What we need to do to solve and go forward together,
to bring some sort of harmony within this tragic situation.
To keep our eyes open and talk about what is going on.

Statement

I had a chance to talk to Albert Snache about his piece. He shared with me that it was layered. It was really quite helpful for me at a difficult time in my life, my husband had passed away. I needed to find a place to start. To ground myself I used my mother's doily. It's an imprint in the piece, as a foundation to build on. All I could remember was the fact that Albert’s piece was about layers and moving together and coming to one. I called my piece Forever Together.

Because simply, and as difficult as that would be, it is what we need to do to solve and go forward together, to bring some sort of harmony within this tragic situation. To keep our eyes open and talk about what is going on. The salmon fishery was almost destroyed by the government and fishing industry. This needs to be given back to the Indigenous community to manage and maintain. Thats what we need to fight for.
