Biography
Marilyn George is Ojibway from Serpent River First Nation, born and raised. Leaving home at the age of 17, George went to Sault College pursuing avenues of education and personal growth.
“I’ve worked in several venues and native organizations throughout Ontario. As an Aboriginal artisan, I spend a lot of time teaching and spreading knowledge about native culture. My personal handwork includes beads, leather, porcupine quills, caribou hair and birch bark. These natural media inspire me. I am also an aboriginal drummer and singer.”
